Job Summary
XcellHost Cloud Services Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Senior Windows & VMware System Administrator to manage, support, and optimize enterprise-grade Windows and virtualized infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on expertise in Windows Server administration, VMware virtualization, Active Directory, server patching, monitoring, backup & recovery, and ITIL-based operations, supporting mission-critical systems across global environments.
This role requires excellent troubleshooting capabilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a 24x7 global support model.
Key Responsibilities
Server & Infrastructure Management
- Administer, support, and maintain enterprise Windows Server environments hosted globally.
- Manage Windows Server platforms (20032019), including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Support VMware-based virtualized infrastructure, including VM provisioning, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Perform server patching, OS upgrades, and automation activities to ensure system stability and compliance.
- Manage and support TSPlus environments.
Security, Compliance & Directory Services
- Administer and support Active Directory, including GPOs, DNS, and DHCP services.
- Perform vulnerability remediation, cipher hardening, and security compliance activities.
- Resolve RDP certificate issues and participate in OS hardening initiatives.
- Manage Splunk installations, VMware Tools upgrades, and security-related system enhancements.
- Support audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements in enterprise environments.
Monitoring, Backup & Recovery
- Configure and manage SCOM monitoring and alerting to ensure proactive issue detection.
- Manage backup and recovery operations using Acronis and ensure data integrity.
- Perform recovery testing and support disaster recovery (DR) activities as required.
ITSM & Operational Support
- Handle Incident, Problem, and Change Management activities using ServiceNow.
- Provide L2/L3 offshore support and participate in on-call rotations.
- Analyze recurring issues and prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documentation.
- Ensure timely resolution of incidents in accordance with SLAs.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
- Conduct Knowledge Transfer (KT) sessions for internal teams.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Mentor junior team members and promote best practices within the team.
