Job Description

Lead the Offshore Structural Engineering activities for projects, ensuring technical excellence, timely delivery, compliance with budget, and quality standards. The role involves supervising teams, managing interfaces, and applying advanced engineering principles to offshore platforms, FPSO/FLNG, and related structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage offshore structural engineering activities in line with project requirements, schedules, and budgets.
  • Supervise the flow of information and coordination among engineering teams and project stakeholders.
  • Maintain and enhance technical skills, procedures, tools, and methodologies for proposals and project execution.
  • Perform design detailing of Fixed/Float-over Platforms, Process Platforms, FPSO, and FLNG structures.
  • Analyze technical documents including specifications, calculations, drawings, and notes to assess study scope and risks.
  • Plan discipline engineering activities and documentation deliverables, considering design workflows and interfaces.
  • Organize team activities, define technical roles and responsibilities, and allocate resources to meet project milestones.
  • Write and implement project procedures for execution and control of structural studies.
  • Coordinate team engineering activities to optimize quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Manage interfaces with other engineering disciplines, construction teams, installation teams, and stakeholders.
  • Control input data, review documents issued by the team, and provide weight and COG data to the weight control engineer.
  • Implement lessons learned to improve departmental processes and project execution.
  • Apply Finite Element analysis tools to verify offshore structures.
  • Ensure compliance with offshore plant layout principles, topside equipment handling, structural, piping, mechanical, and process interfaces.
  • Plan and manage key project activities including Yard fabrication, erection, load-out, sea transport, and offshore installation of jackets, decks, and modules.
  • Conduct pre-FEED and conceptual design of jackets and topsides, including float-over engineering.
  • Perform structural analysis using SACS, including dynamic analysis, jacket in-place analysis, and fatigue analysis.
  • Review structural design drawings, documents, reports, and 3D models; resolve yard queries and comments.
  • Evaluate engineering and design of module decks, support framing, and module connections.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in offshore structural engineering (1520+ years preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of offshore platform design, FPSO/FLNG, and topside/jacket structures.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis tools such as SACS and Finite Element Analysis.
  • Experience with pre-FEED, conceptual, and detailed design of offshore structures.
  • Knowledge of offshore construction, load-out, transportation, and installation processes.
  • Familiarity with interfacing disciplines such as mechanical, piping, and process engineering.
