Scope:
We are looking for a skilled Linux Systems Engineer to administer, maintain, and enhance our Linux-based infrastructure. The role involves managing various Linux distributions, ensuring system stability, automating operational tasks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business-critical applications.
What you'll do:
- System Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE).
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings.
- Administer storage, LVM, and file systems (ext4, xfs, etc.).
- Operations & Maintenance
- Perform OS patching, upgrades, and kernel tuning.
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
- Maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Security & Compliance
- Implement OS hardening best practices.
- Apply security patches and monitor for vulnerabilities.
- Automation & Scripting
- Develop and maintain scripts in Bash, Python, or Ansible for automation.
- Support infrastructure-as-code deployments.
- Collaboration
- Work with application, database, and DevOps teams for Linux-based deployments.
- Provide on-call support for critical issues.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 3 to 8 years of Linux server administration in enterprise environments.
- Strong skills in RHEL/CentOS administration, including systemd, networking, and storage.
- Proficiency in Bash scripting and familiarity with Python or Ansible.
- Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, etc.).
- Understanding of ITIL processes.
- Support (24 x 7 support) - shift rotation, work weekends and evenings
- Team player, fast learner, work in a fasted paced environment and share knowledge.
