Job Overview

Contributes to technical function initiatives across multiple projects and manages technical elements while maintaining performance and schedule.

Key Responsbilities

  • System Architecture & Design
  • Define end-to-end system architecture for transportation sensors, including embedded hardware, ASIC interfaces, signal processing, and software interactions.
  • Lead electronic design activities: schematic development, electrical & thermal calculations, DFMEA creation, and PCB layout oversight.
  • Perform system-level simulations and modeling to validate architecture and ensure robust performance across operating conditions.

Development, Validation & Problem Solving

  • Lead full lifecycle sensor development by collaborating with Mechanical, Software, ECAD, ASIC, Quality, and Reliability teams.
  • Conduct and manage system-level validations (functional, electrical, EMC, thermal).
  • Demonstrate strong hands-on debugging skills across electronics, firmware, and system interfaces, including test rig hardware troubleshooting and development.
  • Drive root-cause analysis using structured methodologies and implement durable corrective actions.

Functional Safety & Compliance

  • Perform ASIL analyses, safety goal decomposition, FIT evaluation, and system safety architecture definition per ISO 26262.
  • Work with hardware and software teams to define, manage, and verify safety requirements at component and system levels.

Customer Interaction & Technical Leadership

  • Serve as the primary technical interface for customer discussions on requirements, concepts, design changes, and validation outcomes.
  • Translate customer and market needs into clear system specifications and requirements.
  • Lead design reviews, risk mitigation planning, and technical decision-making forums.

AI, Data Analytics & Continuous Improvement

  • Apply machine learning techniques for test data analytics, anomaly detection, and early failure prediction.
  • Leverage AI/ML to optimize calibration strategies and accelerate sensor characterization.
  • Benchmark industry technologies, conduct IC characterization, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with global teams, subject matter experts, and external partners to deliver program milestones and maintain engineering rigor.
  • Ensure structured execution using Lean Product Development and systems engineering best practices.

Desired Skill

  • Masters / Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • 12–15 years of experience in automotive electronics, sensor development, or integrated circuit/sensor platforms, with at least 5 years as a Systems Engineer.
  • Strong background in sensor system design, architecture, and deployment for automotive environments.
  • Expertise in analog/digital circuit design, simulation, and system-level functional verification.
  • Strong debugging capability for hardware, firmware, and system integration issues.
  • Hands-on experience developing test rigs, test instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets, draw conclusions, and drive decisions.
  • Proficiency in ISO 26262 Functional Safety Standards, ASIL compliance, FIT analysis, and safety architecture definition.
  • Familiarity with sensing technologies such as Hall, piezoresistive/MEMS, strain gage, XMR, capacitance, and associated ASIC architectures.
  • Experience with AI/hyperscale hardware OR AI driven analytics for sensor test data.
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques used for anomaly detection or predictive diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of LabVIEW, communication interfaces (SENT, PWM, I²C), and software/system development workflows.
  • Experience with ALM tools such as Code Beamer.
  • Proven track record leading global cross-functional teams to deliver complex technical programs.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-resolution skills.
