Job Title: Senior System Administrator / Engineer
Location: Remote (HITEC City, Hyderabad, Telangana 500081)
Shift Requirement: 1:30 PM PT 5:30 PM PT overlap i.e. 10 PM IST to 6 AM IST (Monday to Friday)
Overview
Our infrastructure engineering team is looking for a Senior System Administrator/Engineer well-versed in our legacy, on prem infrastructure and preferably, with also cloud experience.
Mid-level in all of:
- Linux & Windows Server environments (patching, deployment, clustering)
- VMware (vCenter, ESXi, vMotion, vRA, SRM, VDI, vSAN)
- FTP & File Transfer (WSFTP, PGP, job scheduling)
- Citrix (CVAD, NetScaler, XenDesktop, ControlUp)
Scope and Responsibilities
Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented System Administrator/Engineer to support overnight operations across a diverse set of IT environments. This role will focus on performing routine administrative tasks, monitoring systems, and resolving issues across virtualization, storage, backup, networking, and application platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Perform health checks, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting across:
- VMware (vCenter, ESXi, vMotion, vRA, SRM, VDI, vSAN)
- Storage Systems (Dell PowerStore, Unity, Cohesity, AWS FSx)
- Backup Platforms (Avamar, IDPA, Dell Data Domain, Backupify)
- Linux & Windows Server environments (patching, deployment, clustering)
- Citrix (CVAD, NetScaler, XenDesktop, ControlUp)
- FTP & File Transfer (WSFTP, PGP, job scheduling)
- Monitoring Tools (SolarWinds, Data Insights, CloudIQ)
- Azure AD, Power BI, SharePoint, and other enterprise apps
Additional responsibilities:
- Execute patch management, system updates, and routine maintenance tasks
- Respond to alerts and incidents, escalating as needed
- Maintain documentation and update runbooks
- Collaborate with global teams to ensure continuity and coverage
Experience Required
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in system administration or engineering roles
- Hands-on experience with VMware, Windows Server, and enterprise storage
- Familiarity with backup systems and monitoring tools
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Ability to work independently during night shifts
Preferred Skills
- IT Generalist Comfortable handling moderately complex tasks across a diverse set of platforms
- Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash) is a plus
- Exposure to ITIL processes and ticketing systems

Education
- Bachelor of Science in IT/Computer Science or Equivalent
Nice to Have
- Prior experience supporting Asset Management, Investment Management, or Financial Services (FSO) organizations
- Advent Geneva is nice to have.
