Sr Software Engineer (Java)

What's the role

As a Sr Engineer you will be engaged in end-to-end development of critical business applications, android applications and data visualization & analytics. Your responsibilities span the entire software development process to include:

• Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers
• Frontend and backend software development (analysis, coding, testing, continuous delivery & integration)
• Developing various niche & enterprise tools
• Working with the self-managed team in agile methodology
• Uphold team engineering principles & coding standards
• Adhere to company core values
• Independently own and manage a project and report out on frequent basis

Who are you

You are a fast learner and are comfortable working with little direction. You take initiative and bring up ideas. In addition you have the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5 to 8 year years of overall experience including strong experience in application Development.

• Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.

• Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot (MVC)

• Expertise in Git, GitLab, and CI/CD pipelining

• Scripting and Linux environment proficiency

• Strong knowledge of databases, particularly Oracle and PostgreSQL

• Experience working with AWS Cloud services

• Familiarity with Android Application Development.

In this position you will be part of the Technical Operations team supporting Core Map Group which is responsible for developing & supporting self-service tools, platforms, and automation focused on the deployment and operation of HERE's map building applications and services.
