Sr. Software Dev Engineer, Finance Technology

Description

Amazon is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer who is excited about building high-performance, globally scalable systems. In this role, you will design and build next-generation payment solutions and leverage modern AI/ML techniques to optimize payment experiences and reliability

Role Overview

You will work on the technical platform that supports Amazon's global payment operations, building services and applications at scale using AWS. The team is focused on ensuring payment accuracy and timeliness through advanced monitoring and analytics. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, delivering iteratively and shipping features incrementally.

Key job responsibilities

• Design and develop highly secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems for global payment solutions using cloud computing technologies
• Explore and apply AI/ML approaches to enhance payment processing reliability and efficiency
• Drive the overall development lifecycle of solutions and manage complex projects from inception to delivery
• Collaborate with security engineers and product managers to develop strategy and roadmaps for secure, customer-facing solutions
• Partner with engineering peers to develop technical designs and approaches for new product development
• Establish and promote best practices for software development, documentation, and code quality
• Ensure designs meet requirements and deliver high-quality work within defined timelines
• Drive operational excellence through monitoring and operation of production services
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
