Sr. Software Dev Engineer, Amazon Freight

Description

Amazon Freight is building an innovative transportation network with the vision of redefining shipping for its customers. As our Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) and Truckload (TL) business continues to grow, booking and execution efficiency is a critical capability that enables us to deliver competitive service offering while optimizing network utilization, carrier performance, and long-term profitability.

You will be working on a range of challenging tech opportunities that includes (1) building a new quotation architecture (2) Building shipper identities and profile (3) Improving shipper communication architecture (4) core network challenges like network design and demand mismatch (5) Scheduling reliability and service quality (6) A new operator tooling application.

This position requires strong business judgment, exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with operational excellence, is comfortable making data-driven decisions in ambiguous environments, and has experience translating complex transportation economics into scalable network execution strategies. Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
