Senior SEO Executive Job Description

Reporting to: SEO Manager / Associate Director SEO

Role Overview

The Senior SEO Executive will lead execution-driven SEO initiatives, drive performance improvements, and mentor junior team members while ensuring best-in-class SEO delivery across brands.

Key Responsibilities

SEO Strategy & Execution

  • Own end-to-end SEO execution for assigned brands
  • Translate SEO strategies into actionable plans and timelines
  • Ensure accurate implementation of on-page, technical, and content SEO recommendations
  • Monitor performance, identify growth opportunities, and optimize continuously

Stakeholder & Team Management

  • Work closely with website, content, and design teams to drive SEO outcomes
  • Review SEO implementations and maintain quality benchmarks
  • Lead internal discussions, document MoMs, and track deliverables
  • Mentor and guide junior executives; review their work for accuracy and impact

Off-Page & Authority Building

  • Drive backlink strategies through competitor analysis and outreach
  • Manage link acquisition, negotiations, and relationship building with webmasters
  • Maintain backlink, anchor text, and outreach trackers

Client & Business Support

  • Actively contribute to client meetings with insights and performance updates
  • Support pitch decks, audits, and internal knowledge-sharing initiatives
  • Ensure SEO activities align with overall business and campaign goals

Skills & Experience

  • 24 years of hands-on SEO experience (agency experience preferred)
  • Strong analytical thinking with attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities
  • Experience working on at least one CMS and large websites
  • Clear, confident communication and problem-solving mindset Tools & Platforms
    • Google Analytics, Google Search Console
    • SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog
    • Google Docs, Sheets, Slides | MS Excel, PowerPoint
    • Asana, Pitchbox (or similar outreach tools)
