We are looking for a Sr. Salesforce Technical Architect who blends deep Salesforce architecture expertise with strong hands-on development skillssomeone who can design long-term scalable solutions and get into the code to improve, optimize, and elevate our platform.
About The Role
As a Sr. Salesforce Technical Architect, you will serve as the technical authority across our Salesforce implementation. You will lead architectural vision, own end-to-end design, and drive the evolution of our Salesforce ecosystem as we scale.
This is a hands-on architect role: you will design complex systems, write high-quality Apex/Lightning code when needed, participate in code reviews, guide developers, build CI/CD pipelines, and help teams adopt best practices. Your ability to understand existing systems, optimize them, and modernize our architecture will be crucial.
You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders globally to solve real customer problems through secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
Key job responsibilities
Architecture & System Design
- Define and own the architectural roadmap for Salesforce across Amazon Business.
- Architect scalable, high-performance solutions for Sales, Marketing, GTM operations, and support workflows.
- Lead design sessions, create architecture diagrams, and establish technical standards and governance.
- Evaluate existing systems, identify bottlenecks, and drive modernization/optimization efforts.
Hands-on Development & Technical Leadership
- Write high-quality Apex, Lightning (LWC), and SOQL where deep technical implementation is required.
- Review and improve code written by developers; guide patterns, frameworks, and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement in performance, reliability, and scalability.
Integrations & DevOps
- Architect, build, and support integrations between Salesforce and internal Amazon systems, AWS services, and external tools.
- Lead CI/CD pipeline design for Salesforce deploymentsautomation, version control - Github/Gitlab, branching, static code analysis, test automation.
- Ensure robust deployment processes across sandbox environments and production.
Platform Optimization & Maintenance
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable long-term fixes.
- Proactively optimize data models, automations, security configurations, and usage of governor limits.
- Own technical debt prioritization and cleanup initiatives.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work with cross-functional global teams in an agile environment to ship high-quality features.
- Partner with product and business teams to translate requirements into architecture and design.
- Mentor developers, influence engineering culture, and elevate the technical bar across the org.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management, Information Systems, or other related discipline
- 7+ years working with Salesforce (architecture, custom development, integrations, deployments).
- Strong hands-on experience building custom Salesforce applications using Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, REST/SOAP/Bulk APIs, Platform Events, CDC
- Proven architecture experience: designing scalable, secure enterprise-grade systems.
- Experience defining data models, integration patterns, design patterns, and non-functional requirements (performance, reliability, maintainability).
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, automated deployments, and DevOps best practices for Salesforce.
- Experience with end-to-end SDLC, agile methodologies, and leading technical design discussions.
- Ability to analyze existing systems, identify gaps, improve performance, and optimize architecture.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating Salesforce with AWS services (Lambda, Redshift, S3, EventBridge, etc.) and thirdparty integration & ETL tools
- Experience with one or more modern programming languages (Java, Python, Node.js, or Go).
- Experience with large data volumes, data migrations, data governance, and security models.
- Salesforce certifications such as:

- Experience coaching developers, and driving architectural governance.
- Experience in global-scale, high-availability enterprise systems.
About The Team
Amazon Business (AB) is one of Amazon's fastest-growing B2B businesses, serving millions of organizations worldwide. Our Marketing & Sales Technology team builds the automation, CRM, and operational systems that enable Amazon to acquire, engage, and support global business customers at scale.
Salesforce is a core component of this ecosystem. We manage lead lifecycle, 3P integrations, high-volume workflows, data-intensive automation, enrichment, and Marketing CRM support, encompassing maintenance, configurations, customizations, and data management for Amazon Business. Key stakeholders include Demand Generation, Field Marketing, and Events Marketing.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby experience
- Experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- 2+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management, Information Systems, or other related discipline
- Experience with at least two large, successfully custom-built Salesforce applications
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers, or experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience communicating results to senior leadership, or experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving
- 5+ years of experience in Salesforce point and click configuration using workflows, validation rules, roles & profiles, reports and dashboards.
- 2+ years as lead or technical architect of Salesforce
- Experience integrating Salesforce with other applications using SOAP, REST, BULK APIs, Mulesoft, third-party integration tools and ETL with Salesforce.
