Key role responsibilities

  • Drive the development and application of cutting-edge FEA simulation techniques to optimize various nVent products in terms of structural integrity, vibration loading, durability and cost effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with design, experimental, and product development teams to translate simulation insights into tangible improvements in physical products.
  • Architect and implement a robust digital ecosystem, including design tools, engineering calculators, digital twins, and monitoring systems for real-time performance oversight.
  • Leverage your expertise to resolve complex technical issues related to enclosure quality, manufacturing, and performance.
  • Investigate and implement emerging technologies and simulation methods to maintain nVent's competitive edge.
  • Ideate on experimental testing scenarios, Conduct DOE to validate the analysis by working with thermal engineers & test technicians.
  • Stay at the forefront of the field by actively engaging with the technical community through publications, presentations, and industry collaboration.

qualifications and experience

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from reputed institute with Design/Structures as specialization with Good fundamentals in Strength of materials, Applied mechanics and Finite element methods
  • 4+ years of experience with FEA tools like ANSYS (Mechanical), LS Dyna, Hypermesh etc.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Structural Mechanics, Structural Dynamics & FEA theoretical fundamentals with ability to simulate complex linear and nonlinear structure problems.
  • Proficiency in Developing linear and non-linear FEA models, conduct vibration and seismic analysis for structural integrity of the products
  • Adept at parallel computations, parametric modeling, and design optimization, automation script writing techniques to maximize efficiency and performance.
  • Ability to recommend design modifications to meet acceptance criteria based on analysis results, manufacturing and packaging constraints.
  • Experience in SolidWorks or similar CAD software for modeling HVAC and refrigeration components and systems is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
