Sr. Proposal Engineer Process Systems

Role Summary

This role is for a mid-level engineering professional with strong hands-on experience in Gas Distribution Systems (GDS), fluid mass transfer, and process equipment design. The candidate will support both proposal and detailed engineering for projects in the 110 Cr range.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare technical proposals including P&IDs, layout concepts, BOM, and system overview.

Develop and finalize detailed engineering deliverables such as PFD, P&ID, GA, and routing plans.

Understand RFPs, RFQs, and tender documents for engineered systems (skids, Pumps, Fluid systems high-pressure gas units, etc.)

Select fluid system components like regulators, valves, flowmeters, tubing, fittings, and transmitters.

Interface with BD and respond to TQs, participate in client technical meetings.

Support estimation and costing with proper documentation and component justifications.

Optional: Design and engineer test systems/test benches as value-added expertise.

Guide and mentor junior engineers; take increasing ownership of engineering reviews.

Skills & Knowledge Required

Strong knowledge in GDS, fluid flow, pressure & flow control, mass transfer and balance Engineering, Thermal transfer engineering.

Proficiency in PFD and P&ID creation using AutoCAD or E3D.

Basic design calculations line sizing, valve sizing, regulator range selection.

Working knowledge of fluid system components, including MFCs, pressure transmitters, pneumatic valves, etc.

Software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Excel; Bonus: DWSIM, instrumentation sizing tools.

Documentation: Able to create datasheets, hook-up diagrams, and design basis documents.

Understanding of gas safety, pressure rating selection, isolation strategies.

Should have executed multiple projects independently and supported TQ/BD interactions

Advantage: Experience designing test rigs or control logic for automated skids

Educational Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical and Process Engineering /Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering.
