The Line Leader / Supervisor Rotating Machinery is a senior technical authority responsible for the engineering, specification, and selection of rotating machinery packages. The role provides hands-on technical leadership, mentoring of junior engineers, and ensures compliance with industry codes and project standards across medium to large projects, including offshore and onshore facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply advanced engineering techniques to solve complex machinery and equipment problems
- Lead technical decision-making for rotating machinery packages such as centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, gas and steam turbines, centrifugal pumps, nitrogen generation units, air compressors, loading arms, and utility packages
- Develop technical requirements, datasheets, specifications, and Material Requisitions for rotating equipment
- Conduct technical bid evaluations, review vendor documents, and coordinate engineering activities with vendors and internal disciplines
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers
- Ensure designs and engineering practices comply with API standards (API-610, API-616, API-617, API-618)
- Support FEED and detailed engineering activities, including brownfield projects, for refineries and gas processing plants
- Interpret PFDs and P&IDs to integrate rotating machinery into plant systems
- Travel globally for short-term assignments to support project execution, vendor coordination, and client liaison
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or allied Engineering
- 15 to 25 years of progressive experience in rotating machinery and related equipment
- Hands-on experience with rotating machinery packages and auxiliary systems
- Proven leadership experience in medium to large engineering projects
- Exposure to offshore projects, FEED, and brownfield project environments
