Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Network Engineer to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will have 4-7 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures, ensuring high availability and security.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage complex network systems and infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network solutions with other systems.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams and configuration details.
- Ensure network security through effective monitoring and management of firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures.
- Stay updated with the latest networking technologies and best practices.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior network engineers.
Skills and Qualifications
- 4-7 years of experience in network engineering or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
- Experience with network security technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
- Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices (e.g., routers, switches, access points).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios).
- CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent networking certifications are preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Provide ongoing support on all areas of data center networking, which involves configuring routers, switches, load balances , Firewalls Etc..
- Configuring and managing security appliances and next generation firewalls from various vendors such as check point, Cisco ASA, Juniper, Sophos- Cyberroam and FortiGate Etc.
- Should be good at handling technologies like NMS, WAF, DDOS, VPN and IPS
- Should have an experience in configuring WiFi access points, controllers and WiFi security solutions
- Assist in design / development of network products and solutions
- Assist in network-based projects and development
- Preparing network diagrams / documentation based on the project needs
- Dealing with all types of network-related incidents to ensure that Service Level Agreements with customers are adhered to.
- Build and maintain working relationships with key interconnect partners & Customers
- Provide 24×7 support on request from the customer as an exception. This support might often require travel to customers location/s. (Note- Ad-hoc calls are minimal, typically at most one call a month. Most other calls are planned down-time / maintenance calls).
- Strong working knowledge in vulnerability assessment, network audits and throughput testing is preferred.
