Sr. Mechanical Engineer- Job Description (India)
The position is open at our India office working with our UK based teams.
We have openings for Senior Mechanical Engineers with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Mechanical Engineering and Design.
As a member of team, you will be responsible for carrying out the Designs & Calculations and developing Drawings for UK Water projects.
You will be working under the direction of the Team Manager, Project Managers and Lead Design Engineers.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Minimum B. Tech / M. Tech from an institution of repute.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of design in the water industry.
- An appreciation of the implications of works on the environment and knowledge of sustainable solutions, water and wastewater processes and health and safety legislation.
- The ability to work with engineers from all disciplines and other industry professionals to optimise and develop bespoke and innovative designs.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT or Plant 3D as well as MS Office Software.
- Strong interpersonal / team working skills, with a good working relationship with all levels of the organisation, clients and contractors
Principal Duties and Main Activities
- Mechanical Engineering, working in a Multidisciplinary Team, interfacing and coordinating with the other disciplines
- Water / Wastewater Treatment Design
- Providing Outline and Detailed Mechanical Design Deliverables, including;
- - Pumping Systems Design, Hydraulic calculations and Pump Selection
- - Pumping Station Design
- - General Arrangements
- - Piping and Fittings Design
- - Access and Lifting for Water / Wastewater Treatment Process Plant
- - Plant and Equipment Selection for Water / Wastewater Treatment Process
- - Developing P&IDs in conjunction with other design disciplines
- Participation in Design Review, Hazard Studies and Access Lifting and Maintenance Review
- Ensuring design output is completed in accordance with the agreed scope of works, timescales and budgets.
