Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Annual Maintenance Planning
- Identify major potential breakdowns and prepare an annual maintenance plan.
- Finalize preventive maintenance (PM) schedules based on specific machine requirements and monitor adherence.
- Plan shutdown maintenance and overhauls as per schedule.
- Measures: Annual maintenance budget, maintenance cost per vehicle (Rs.)
Breakdown Maintenance Management
- Review daily breakdown reports and take corrective actions to maximize machine uptime.
- Analyze repetitive breakdowns and implement countermeasures (Kaizen, skill improvements).
- Plan machine reconditioning where required.
- Measures: MTBF, MTTR, % uptime, adherence to PM
New Installations Management
- Provide technical specifications for procurement of new machines based on past breakdown trends and quality/safety requirements.
- Conduct technical assessments of RFQs and participate in Design Approval Process (DAP) discussions.
- Conduct trials of new machines and ensure snag points are closed.
- Measures: Timeline adherence, successful machine handover for operations
Supplier Management
- Plan spares availability for machine recovery from contingencies.
- Optimize inventory and participate in inspections/trials at supplier locations for critical items.
- Measures: % Availability of spares
Quality Management
- Track and report daily quality figures caused by maintenance issues.
- Ensure sustenance of process capability of critical and major dimensions in machining.
