Procurement Excellence & Data Governance

Role Overview

The Procurement Excellence & Data Governance will be responsible for driving procurement process improvements, ensuring procurement data accuracy, enhancing analytics capabilities and supporting strategic sourcing initiatives. This role will enable the procurement function to operate with optimized efficiency, transparency to internal stakeholders and provide strategic insights by leveraging best practices, digital tools and strong data governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Excellence
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve procurement policies, SOPs and bestpractice frameworks.
  • Drive process standardization and automation across procurement activities.
  • Lead procurement maturity assessments and implement improvement projects.
  • Support category managers/ buyers in strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contracts and governance guidelines.
  • Benchmark performance against industry standards and recommend improvements.
  • Support risk management initiativessupplier risk, contractual risk and operational risk.
  • Procurement Data Management
  • Maintain accurate and clean procurement master data (Spend data, savings data, vendor data, material master, category, procurement levers etc).
  • Collaborate with IT teams to improve data structures in ERP/SRM systems towards continuous improvement.
  • Ensure data governance, validation, periodic audits and cleansing processes.
  • Lead development of dashboards and analytics using tools like Power BI, Tableau or SAP BI.
  • Provide actionable insights through spend analysis, savings tracking, supplier performance metrics and other procurement KPIs.
  • Reporting & Analytics
  • Generate and maintain procurement MIS reports, dashboards and analytics for leadership reviews.
  • Track and periodically report procurement KPIs such as cost savings, contract compliance, supplier performance, PO cycle time etc. and their y-o-y comparisons.
  • Enable datadriven decisionmaking across procurement categories.
  • CrossFunctional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Data Office, Finance, Operations and IT teams to ensure alignment and data accuracy.
  • Coordinate with buyers to maintain accurate documentation and compliance records.
  • Support internal stakeholders with data, insights and tools for better procurement outcomes.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related field.
  • Certification in Supply Chain/Procurement will be a plus.

Experience

  • 815 years overall procurement experience with minimum 4-5 years in procurement excellence, procurement governance, data analytics and reporting.
  • Handson experience with ERP systems (SAP) with MM module.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, policies and best practices.
  • Experience in Electrical & Industrial Automation businesses is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong planning, analytical and data visualization skills.
  • Expertise in procurement data governance and master data management.
  • Process improvement and change management skills (Lean/Six Sigma a plus).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced, crossfunctional environment.
