Urgent Opening for Sr. HR Executive / Asst Manager in leading Retail Company in Chennai

Position Name :Sr. HR Executive / Asst Manager

Qualification :MBA / MSW / BBA / B.Com / Any HR-related degree

Experience :5 to 8 years

Key Responsibilities

1. Talent Acquisition Production (Factory)

  • End-to-end hiring for production staff, technicians, supervisors, trainees, and contract manpower
  • Workforce planning based on production targets and capacity planning
  • Liaising with contractors, local consultants, ITIs, skill centres, and manpower agencies
  • Managing walk-in drives, referrals, and local hiring channels
  • Ensuring quick closures to avoid production delays
  • Maintaining compliance with labour laws related to contract labour

2. Talent Acquisition Corporate & Support Functions

  • Hiring for corporate roles including Accounts, HR, CRM, Marketing, Design, Operations, Projects, Inventory, and Admin
  • Drafting job descriptions, sourcing profiles, screening, and coordinating interviews
  • Working closely with department heads to understand role expectations
  • Driving offer closures and joining formalities
  • Reducing hiring cycle time and improving quality of hire

3. Recruitment Strategy & Employer Branding

  • Building a structured recruitment process and hiring calendar
  • Creating talent pipelines for critical and recurring roles
  • Improving referral programs and internal hiring practices
  • Supporting employer branding initiatives aligned with company culture

4. Onboarding & HR Operations

  • Managing onboarding, documentation, and induction for all new hires
  • Ensuring smooth coordination between HR, payroll, compliance, and department heads
  • Maintaining employee records, HRMIS, and statutory documentation
  • Supporting attendance, leave, and payroll coordination (factory + corporate)

5. Compliance & Factory HR Support

  • Ensuring adherence to Factories Act, Contract Labour Act, ESI, PF, and other statutory requirements
  • Supporting audits, inspections, and documentation
  • Handling discipline, attendance issues, and basic employee relations at the factory level

6. Reporting & HR Metrics

  • Tracking hiring metrics: TAT, cost per hire, source effectiveness
  • Monthly reporting on manpower strength, attrition, and vacancies
  • Identifying gaps and proactively planning future hiring needs

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong experience in production / factory hiring
  • Exposure to corporate hiring across multiple functions
  • Knowledge of labour laws and statutory compliance
  • Ability to handle high-volume hiring under tight timelines
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Hands-on, execution-focused, and process-oriented mindset
  • Comfortable working across factory and corporate environments
