ROLE:
We are looking for a Footwear Designer with 24 years of hands-on production experience at a designer brand or studio to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who understands the realities of factory-floor execution, artisan coordination, and timelineswhile also contributing to design development.
You will be responsible for translating design intent into scalable production, managing day-to-day execution of all orders. You'll work closely with founders, karigars and production partners to ensure every pair meets our design, comfort, and quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design Support & Development:
- Assist senior designers/founders in developing bridal, festive, and casual footwear collections.
- Translate design concepts into executable sketches, technical drawings, and specs.
- Support custom and made-to-order client designs with clear execution briefs.
- Source and manage materials, trims, soles, and embellishments aligned with brand aesthetics and cost targets.
Production & Order Execution (Core Focus):
- Own end-to-end production execution forall orders, including sampling, bulk, and custom pieces.
- Coordinate daily with factories, karigars, and vendors to track progress and resolve issues.
- Manage production timelines, work allocation, and follow-ups to ensure on-time dispatch.
- Conduct in-line and final quality checks for fit, finish, embroidery, and comfort.
- Flag production risks early and suggest practical, on-ground solutions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Footwear Design or a related field.
- 24 years of experience in production, sampling, or execution at a designer brand, footwear label, or accessories studio.
- Strong understanding of footwear construction, pattern making, shoe lasts, sole types, and comfort considerations
- Ability to read and create basic technical drawings and specs.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop / CorelDRAW (or equivalent) is a plus
- Experience working directly with artisans, factories, or embroidery units.
