Job Purpose:
To lead contributions toward the engineering function at the LEI plant for secondary distribution network products, with a focus on application engineering, customer drawings, approvals, and wiring deliverables to production.
Job Context:
Standard work conditions apply with base salary and benefits as per company policies. This is a permanent role for an application engineer.
Key Accountabilities:
- Prepare schematic drawings: power circuit, control circuit, auxiliary circuits, and terminal details
- Prepare assembly drawings: general arrangement, foundation details, cross section, and instrument arrangement
- Coordinate with Marketing, Tendering, Quality, Fabrication, Production, Stores, and Customers for drawing and execution
- Apply knowledge of power distribution fundamentals including fault current calculation, interlocking design, protection functions, busbar sizing, load calculation, relay selection
- Select CTs and PTs based on project requirements (ratios, VA burden, etc.)
- Interpret project specifications, BOMs, and SLDs to design MV switchgear panels
- Interface with marketing and customers to resolve technical queries
- Perform load calculation for auxiliary supplies
- Apply protection knowledge including line protection, transformer protection, and differential protection
- Visit customer sites for drawing approvals
- Collaborate with IEC teams for AEGIS family project delivery
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- BE in Electrical
- 24 years MV switchgear experience
- Must have experience in application engineering of schematic/SLD diagrams
- Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office
