Sr. Engineer - Buyer

We are seeking a proactive Sr. Engineer - Buyer to join the T&G team. The ideal candidate will have 6 to 8 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering company and will be responsible for ensuring on-time delivery of materials, conducting cost analysis, and managing supplier performance. This role requires a strong understanding of procurement processes and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Procurement & Delivery: Ensure all assigned materials are delivered to internal departments on or before the scheduled time. You'll also conduct proper cost analysis to land on the right price for materials.
• Supplier & Vendor Management: Scan the market for available suppliers and create alternate vendors as needed. You'll analyze existing supplier performance based on factors like rejection rates, rework issues, and on-time delivery.
• Inventory & Cost Control: Cater to and monitor demand-based requirements, ensuring appropriate inventory levels are maintained. You will also identify and implement cost reduction initiatives to improve efficiency.
• Data & System Management: Prepare data and MIS (Management Information Systems) reports and enter data into the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.
• Quality & Improvement: Ensure quality issues are solved effectively and incorporate process improvements to reduce inventory requirements and enhance productivity.

Skills Required

• Education: A BE (Bachelor of Engineering) or ME (Master of Engineering) in Mechanical.
• Experience: 6 to 8 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering company.
• Technical Knowledge: A strong knowledge of drawing reading and zero-base costing is preferred. You should be able to do zero-base costing and negotiate effectively with suppliers.
• Systems Proficiency: Knowledge of ERP/SAP and MS Office.
• Supply Chain: Knowledge of KANBAN/ROP (Reorder Point) systems.
• Problem-Solving: The ability to solve quality issues and identify opportunities for process improvement.
