Role Description
- We are seeking a visionary Application Architect to spearhead the design, build, and migration of our global Nostro & Depot Reconciliation platform. You will be responsible for replacing a legacy vendor product with a bespoke, high-performance, Java-based microservices architecture.
- This is a dual-track leadership role: you will drive the technical blueprint for a hybrid cloud solution capable of processing massive data volumes while simultaneously leading the functional decomposition of our existing vendor platform to ensure a seamless migration and decommissioning.

Your key responsibilities
- Architecture & Design
- Blueprint Development: Design a scalable, resilient, and secure hybrid cloud architecture using Java and Microservices.
- High-Volume Processing: Engineer the system to handle extreme data loads, ensuring low latency and high availability for complex financial matching.
- Cloud Strategy: Navigate the complexities of a hybrid cloud environment, ensuring data integrity and compliance across on-premise and cloud infrastructures.
- Legacy Decommissioning & Strategy
- Functional Decomposition: Deep-dive into the existing vendor product to map, document, and decompose its functional components.
- Product Backlog Management: Translate legacy features into a modern product backlog, prioritizing development based on business value and risk mitigation.
- Migration Roadmap: Define the end-to-end strategy for migrating active reconciliations from the vendor tool to the new platform with zero business disruption.
- Leadership & Execution
- Technical Mentorship: Lead and inspire a team of developers, conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to best practices in TDD and CI/CD.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure the platform meets complex Nostro/Depot regulatory and operational requirements.
Your skills and experience
Required Qualifications
- Technical Excellence: Mastery of Java (Spring Boot), Microservices, and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, IBM MQ).
- Domain Expertise: Proven experience in Nostro/Depot Reconciliation or similar high-volume financial transaction processing.
- Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience with hybrid cloud deployments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Migration Experience: A track record of successfully decommissioning vendor software and migrating to in-house builds.
