About The Role
We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst with a strong background in Finance and Accounting analytics to join our Data & Analytics team. This role will partner closely with Finance, Accounting, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality insights, robust reporting, and data models that support decision-making and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate has over five years of experience, is highly proficient in SQL, and has hands-on expertise with Tableau (preferred) or Power BI. You will enjoy working with complex financial data, building scalable reporting solutions, and translating business questions into clear, actionable data-driven recommendations. Qualifications
- Over five years of professional experience in a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence, or Analytics role, preferably within finance or accounting domains.
- Strong hands-on expertise with SQL, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, and performance tuning. Familiarity with dbt Cloud concepts is a plus.
- Proven experience developing and maintaining dashboards and reports in Tableau (preferred) or Power BI.
- Demonstrated ability to work with finance or accounting data such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flows, general ledger, revenue, expenses, accounts receivable/payable, write-offs, and reconciliations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and drive actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills, capable of working with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to understand business questions, reporting needs, and analytical requirements.
- Design, build, and maintain SQL-based datasets, views, and queries to support recurring and ad hoc analysis.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain dashboards and reports in Tableau (preferred) or Power BI, ensuring they are accurate, reliable, and user-friendly.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close processes with reconciliations, variance analyses, and operational reporting as needed.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and revenue growth.
- Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to improve data models, data quality, and documentation across Finance and Accounting domains.
- Translate complex findings into clear narratives and recommendations for non-technical stakeholders, including presentations and written summaries.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of automation and standardization for recurring Finance and Accounting reporting and metrics.
- Ensure that reports and analyses adhere to controls, data governance, and audit/SOX requirements where applicable.
