Job Description
- Provide post deployment configuration assistance for the following security Akamai products, including:
- App & API with ASM included advanced delivery Protector (specifically the security products: WAF, L7 ANTI-DDOS, BOT MANAGER, API DISCOVERY)
- Site Shield
- API Acceleration
- Bot Manager Premier
- API Security
- Support fine-tuning, optimization, and configuration reviews on Akamai UI in alignment with recommended practices and customer requirements.
- Track and maintain logs of configuration assistance hours and report regularly to the project management representative.
- Collaborate with internal teams and customer stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery and maximize the value of Akamai services.
- Share knowledge, create documentation, and support customer teams in ongoing management of Akamai security configurations.
Roles & Responsibilities
- We are looking for a skilled Akamai Security Product Professional Services / Configuration Assistance / Implementations Expert to provide hands-on configuration, optimization, and consultation on Akamai's Application security products.
- The role involves working closely with customers to ensure efficient deployments, optimization, and adherence to Akamai best practices, while maintaining clear reporting and collaboration with project management.
- The candidate will be functioning at The Client's Pune India location as a full-time resource.
Qualification & Certification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Akamai certifications are a strong plus.
- 7+ years in post implementations configuration engineer role / professional services, with 2 to 2.5+ years of hands-on experience in the relevant Akamai Application security solutions (App & API with ASM included advanced delivery, Site Shield, API Acceleration, API Security(Noname),Bot Manager Premier).
- Akamai Certified Professional Security Solutions (WAF, DDoS, Bot Manager, API Protector, Site Shield, API Security) inclusive of Akamai Control Center/Product Training is a plus.
- Complementary industry certs like CCSP, CEH, cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP), is an added value(optional but preferred).
Required Skills
- Strong communication, presentation and collaboration skills.
- Direct Customer handling experience
- Hands-on expertise with Akamai security products: App & API with ASM included advanced delivery Protector (specifically the security products: WAF, L7 ANTI-DDOS, BOT MANAGER, API DISCOVERY), Site Shield, API Acceleration, API Security & Bot Manager Premier
- Strong knowledge of web/app security (OWASP Top 10, API security, bot mitigation).
- Solid understanding of CDN, DNS, HTTP/S, caching, and performance optimization.
- Ability to analyze logs, fine-tune policies, and apply best practices.
- Configuration assistance, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Reporting, and documentation of configuration changes.
- Balancing performance and security requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate technical data into customer-friendly recommendations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for engaging with customers and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage time effectively, maintain accurate reporting, and support project management workflows.
