Sr. BIM Electrical Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical BIM Delivery & Technical Oversight

• Lead the production and review of detailed electrical construction and coordination drawings in compliance with US standards and codes.

• Oversee conduit modelling, lighting fixture layouts, device and equipment placement in line with Design Development (DD) and Construction Documents (CD).

• Ensure accurate interpretation and implementation of design and contract drawings across BIM models.

2. Coordination & Constructibility

• Lead electrical coordination with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines.

• Manage and review clash detection and resolution using Navisworks.

• Ensure constructibility and coordination readiness for field execution.

3. BIM Model Management & Setup

• Oversee the setup and management of project files in Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360 / ACC Docs.

• Define modelling standards, work sets, templates, and coordination workflows for the electrical team.

• Guide the team on documentation and data management best practices.

4. Documentation & Deliverables

• Review and approve conceptual, presentation, working, and construction drawings related to electrical systems.

• Ensure deliverables meet client requirements, BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), and project timelines.

• Oversee the preparation of BIM models and detailing through pre-construction to handover phases.

5. Quality Assurance & Standards Compliance

• Implement and monitor QA/QC processes for electrical BIM deliverables.

• Review electrical families, conduit layouts, and model data for accuracy, consistency, and code compliance.

• Ensure adherence to US electrical standards and project-specific guidelines.

6. Automation, Innovation & Advanced Tools

• Provide leadership in Dynamo scripting and automation to improve modelling efficiency and documentation accuracy.

• Guide and review electrical family creation and point cloudbased modelling where applicable.

• Encourage adoption of best practices and continuous process improvements.

7. Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of BIM Engineers and Electrical Modellers.

• Allocate tasks, conduct technical reviews, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs.

• Support training, onboarding, and performance development of team members.

8. Client & Project Interface

• Participate in coordination meetings, design reviews, and client discussions for US projects.

• Support project managers with planning, effort estimation, and technical inputs.

• Ensure timely responses to RFIs and design changes.
