Software Engineer Regulatory Submission Content Automation
What you will do
In this vital role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and solutions that meet business needs, while ensuring the availability and performance of critical systems and applications. This role involves working closely with product managers, designers, data engineers, and other engineers to create high-quality, scalable software solutions, automate operations, monitor system health, and respond to incidents to minimize downtime.
You will play a key role in a regulatory submission content automation initiative which aims to modernize and digitize the regulatory submission process. This initiative will position Amgen as a leader in regulatory innovation through the adoption of Generative AI, Structured Content Management, and integrated data to automate the creation and management of regulatory content.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Possess strong rapid prototyping skills and quickly translate concepts into working code
- Contribute to both front-end and back-end development using cloud technology
- Develop innovative solutions using generative AI technologies
- Ensure code quality and consistency to standard methodologies
- Create and maintain documentation on software architecture, design, deployment, disaster recovery, and operations
- Identify and resolve technical challenges effectively
- Stay updated with the latest technology trends and advancements
- Work closely with product team, business team, and other collaborators
- Design, develop, and implement applications and modules, including custom reports, interfaces, and enhancements
- Analyze and understand functional and technical requirements and translate them into software architecture/design specifications
- Develop and implement unit tests, integration tests, and other testing strategies
- Identify and resolve software bugs and performance issues
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and QA
- Customize modules to meet specific business requirements
- Integrate with other systems and platforms to ensure seamless data flow and functionality
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for applications

Basic Qualifications:
- Master's degree and 1 to 3 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field OR
- Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field OR
- Diploma and 7 to 9 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Must-Have Skills:
- Proficiency in Python/PySpark, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Databricks, DevOps Tools, CI/CD, and Data Ingestion
- Clean, efficient, and maintainable code development
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Angular for interactive, responsive applications
- In-depth knowledge of data engineering, ETL processes, and data architecture principles
- Solid understanding of cloud computing, especially AWS ecosystem
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Hands-on experience with cloud services, understanding the pros and cons of various cloud services within a well-architected design
- Experienced in API integration, serverless architecture, and microservices
- Experience in SQL/NoSQL databases, vector databases for large language models
Good-to-Have Skills:
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with monitoring/logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk
- Experience with data processing tools such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar
