Responsibilities
Audit senior associatesprovides timely, high quality client service as part of the client engagement teams serving large and small companies in a variety of industries. They will develop strong working relationships while working closely with teams to understand and solve clients complex businesses and challenges. Experienced professionals serve our clients by:
- Understanding clients needs and expectations, their business and industry, accounting and control systems, employees, company values and industry-related IFRS issues
- Developing and demonstrating an understanding of the RSM audit approach, methodology and tools
- Performing audit procedures and tests in accordance with the RSM audit methodology based overall audit plan, ensuring proper documentation of work performed.
- Identifying areas of risk and accounting and auditing issues; discuss with engagement teams to solve issues that arise.
- Researching technical accounting issues
- Developing industry expertise
- Preparing audit reports, and management letters
- Exercising professional skepticism, judgment and adhere to the code of ethics while on engagements
- Ensuring that documentation is compliant with quality standards of the firm
- Working collaboratively as a part of the team and communicate effectively with RSM audit professionals
- Provide supervision and development training for associates
- Taking ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables to ensure service excellence through prompt responses to internal and external clients
- Providing timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations including coordinating the development and execution of the audit work plan and client deliverables
- Understanding RSM Canada and RSM Delivery Center's line of business service capabilities and work as a team in providing an integrated service delivery
- Ensuring professional development through ongoing education
- Participating in a range of projects and open to collaborate and work with multiple teams; demonstrating critical thinking, problem solving, initiative and timely completion of work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors in Commerce/MBA
- Qualified Chartered Accountant / CPA / ACCA
- 2-4 years of relevant experience working in an accounting and audit related field
- Strong technical skills in accounting including IFRS
- Strong multi-tasking and project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication (English) as the position requires frequent communications with RSM International clients and the Canada based engagement teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Non Assurance services (PCR) preferred.
- Strong Data Analytical skills including advanced Excel skills (Vlookups, pivot tables, and basic formulas), Word and PowerPoint
