- Role Overview
Position Summary:
This role requires strong technical expertise, implementing and supporting the application system on AS400 adhering to IT process improvements that support the NA business areas including, but not limited to, New Business, Billing and compensation, other duties may include transition of product knowledge to project teams, management of communication with the business users for any production issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with a team of AS400 developers, providing technical guidance and support.
- Build and implement complex, large-scale applications capable of integrating with multiple internal/external systems policy, claim, document/imaging, billing, and financial reporting.
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ensure code quality, performance, and security standards are met.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices in RPG programming.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues in a timely manner.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation.
- Prepare technical documentation and user guides.
- Stay updated with AS400 technologies and recommend improvements.
- Adaptation of AI into AS400 and bringing process improvements.
- Support migration, integration, and modernization initiatives as needed.
- Understand tools, approaches, and processes within Chubb framework to optimize solutions and mitigate risks
- Focus and foster Chubb standards related to usability, stability, performance, and security
Desired Skills, Experience and Qualification
WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- 3 6 years of hands-on development experience AS400 and coding experience using coding languages like CL, RPG, RPGLE, SQLRPGLE and COBOL.
- DB2 within AS400 is widely used and SQL Skills are very much required.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience with APIs, web services, and middleware integration.
- Familiarity with change management and version control tools.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience with modernization tools and integration with other platforms is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to effectively communicate with on-shore and off-shore teams
- Insurance knowledge with processes of Policy Administration, Underwriting, Reinsurance Claims and Billing will be an added advantage
