Job Description

Outpace Consulting Services is seeking a Sr. Analyst - Underwriter (US Mortgage) for a leading ITES company. In this role, you'll be responsible for meticulously reviewing and assessing residential mortgage loan applications to determine borrower creditworthiness. You'll analyze complex financial documents, evaluate credit reports, verify assets, and assess property collateral. The ideal candidate will apply FNMA, FHLMC, and investor guidelines to make informed approval or denial decisions, ensuring compliance and providing accurate, timely assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loan Application Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis and calculation of qualifying income from various tax documents (e.g., 1040s, Schedule E, 1065, 1120, 1120S, K1, transcripts) for salaried, business, retired, and rental income.
  • Credit & Asset Verification: Perform a complete review of credit reports to verify trade lines, derogatory accounts, public records, and conduct credit reconciliation. Verify assets including bank statements, retirement accounts, mutual funds, and other investments.
  • Collateral & Property Valuation: Conduct a complete review of collateral and property valuation.
  • Risk Assessment & Decisioning: Apply FNMA, FHLMC, GNMA, and investor guidelines to evaluate loan documents and make sound approval or denial decisions based on the borrower's Income, Asset, Liability, and Collateral (the 4 Cs of Underwriting).
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with underwriting standards and organizational policies. Validate and process loan documents on behalf of the mortgage lender organization.
  • Communication & Problem Solving: Utilize excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectively assess risk and support loan processing teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Any Graduate.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of Underwriting experience in US Mortgage.
  • Domain Knowledge: Sound knowledge of US Residential mortgage and exposure to Underwriting processes & guidelines.
  • Skills: Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and sound judgment.
  • Strong analytical skills for income and credit analysis.
  • Good decision-making skills for applying business judgment.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated and hard-working.
