What Data Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health

The Data & Analytics Function oversees the analytics life-cycle in order to identify, analyze and present relevant insights that drive business decisions and anticipate opportunities to achieve a competitive advantage. This function manages analytic data platforms, the access, design and implementation of reporting/business intelligence solutions, and the application of advanced quantitative modeling.

Data Engineering ensures raw data is usable and accessible for the organization. Data Engineering encompasses numerous specialties of data acquisition, integration, and provisioning.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage data pipelines using Cloud Composer (Airflow on GCP)
  • Build ingestion and transformation workflows using Cloud Functions, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery
  • Optimize the performance and cost-efficiency of pipelines across large-scale data lakes
  • Implement CI/CD practices for data workflows and automation

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in Big Data systems, Data Analytics and Data Integration related fields.
  • Experience in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, etc.
  • Hands-on GCP experience in Data Engineering, especially Cloud Composer.
  • Hands-on experience with Data Ingestion technologies like GCP Dataflow, Kafka and Cloud composer.
  • Experience in designing and optimizing data models on GCP cloud using GCP data stores such as Big Query.
  • Agile development skills and experience.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Concourse, Jenkins
  • Knowledge of Terraform is a plus.
  • Google Cloud Platform certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Python for data engineering
  • Experience with Shell scripting for workflow orchestration
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration and scheduling
