Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, extensive experience in financial reporting and analysis, and the ability to work independently while leading various accounting functions. This role involves overseeing accounting operations, managing financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus).
- 8+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 4 years in a senior or supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with accounting software AND SAP software is must
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with senior management and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage and mentor a team of junior accountants.
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting, reconciliations, and tax compliance.
- Experience with month-end and year-end closings, audits, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience in managing or supervising teams is a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and adjustments.
- Month-End & Year-End Closing: Manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met and all accounts are accurately stated.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with internal and external auditors to provide requested documentation and support during the audit process.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of tax filings, including sales tax, VAT, and corporate taxes. Assist with tax audits and planning.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures, and assist in implementing improvements.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accountants and other members of the finance team. Supervise daily accounting tasks and review their work for accuracy.
- SAP & Accounting Systems: Maintain and enhance the use of SAP & accounting software systems to streamline processes and ensure data accuracy.
