This role demands deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and hands-on experience with SQL & PostgreSQL Server and Azure SQL services.

Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases (2008R2/2012/2014/2016/2019/2022) and Azure SQL environments
- Perform database upgrades, migrations, backups, restores, and patching
- Monitor performance and implement tuning strategies for high availability and scalability
- Design and implement disaster recovery solutions using Always On, Log Shipping, SQL Replication and Geo-Replication
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, and Azure automation tools
- Collaborate with development teams to support SSIS, SSRS, and SQL-based applications
- Ensure database security, compliance, and access control across environments
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to connectivity, performance, and data integrity
- Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure reviews
- Document procedures, configurations, and best practices
- Experience with Azure services: Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure PAAS DBs
- Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies
- Hands-on experience with backup/restore strategies and disaster recovery planning
- Familiarity with cloud migration tools and hybrid environments
- Scripting skills in PowerShell and T-SQL
- Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Understanding of data governance and compliance frameworks
