ETHICS CODE is looking for a skilled Senior SQL Engineer to join our engineering team. This is a
hybrid role based in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, offering a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.
We are seeking a detail-oriented SQL Developer with more than 5 years of professional experience. In this role, you will be responsible for high-level T-SQL development, data manipulation, and complex report generation. You should be capable of interpreting intricate requirements, optimizing query performance, and ensuring data quality through rigorous testing and documentation.
Work Schedule: This position follows a specific shift to align with our global operations:
- 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM IST (Equivalent to 1:30 AM - 10:30 AM EST)
Requirements
- Database Development: Design, develop, and maintain intricate T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions
- Data Transformation: Execute complex data cleansing, validation, and enrichment tasks; compose and schedule custom scripts for data movement
- Reporting: Design and maintain reports utilizing Crystal Reports or other modern business intelligence tools
- Optimization: Analyze and convert business requirements into efficient SQL code while enhancing existing queries for scalability
- Collaboration: Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, peer programming, and unit testing cycles
- Integrity: Investigate data issues, perform root cause analysis, and maintain comprehensive documentation and data dictionaries
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience: 4+ years of practical experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL
- Technical Depth: Expertise in stored procedures, triggers, indexing, and performance tuning
- Data Proficiency: Strong command of relational database concepts, normalization, joins, CTEs, and window functions
- Tools: Experience using Git for version control and the ability to interpret ERDs and functional specifications
- Quality: Demonstrated experience writing unit tests and collaborating with QA teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Experience: 5+ years of total SQL experience
- BI & Reporting: Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, or migrating reports between platforms
- Methodology: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and a basic understanding of ETL/Data Warehousing
- Industry Plus (++): Experience in the Life Sciences industry (Pharmaceuticals, Biotech, or Clinical Research). Knowledge of GxP compliance, FDA regulations, or 21 CFR Part 11 is a significant advantage
