About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Developer with expertise in PostgreSQL to join our dynamic team on a contractual basis. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex data projects, develop robust data pipelines, and support automation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL development, Python scripting, and cloud-based data workflows, with a proven track record of delivering end-to-end data engineering solutions. You will collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and implement effective data solutions that enhance data quality, performance, and security.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7+ years of overall experience in data engineering or related fields, with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience in SQL development, specifically with PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency in Python scripting for data manipulation, automation, and light transformation tasks.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering full-cycle data engineering projects, including architecture, development, testing, and deployment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills with an eye for detail.
- Familiarity with cloud services, especially AWS, is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design, write, and optimize complex SQL queries using PostgreSQL to support reporting, analytics, and data extraction processes.
- Develop and maintain Python scripts that facilitate data workflows, automation, and light data transformations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, and business users to gather requirements and deliver scalable data solutions.
- Build, manage, and optimize data pipelines, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security.
- Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting to resolve data pipeline issues and improve overall system efficiency.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and quality across multiple data systems and platforms.
- Participate in end-to-end data engineering projects, including architecture design, development, testing, and deployment phases.
- Utilize AWS services such as Lambda and Step Functions to build or enhance cloud-based data workflows.
- Strictly adhere to Information Security Management System (ISMS) policies and procedures to safeguard data assets.
