We are seeking a SQL Server DBA with expertise in RDBMS software installation, database server builds, applying patches, upgrading, configuring, and troubleshooting of SQL Server 2008R2/2012/2014/2016. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Disaster Recovery plans by configuring AlwaysOn, Clustering, Log-shipping, Mirroring, and Replication (Snapshot and Transactional). You must also be skilled in implementing High Availability in SQL 2012/2016 by configuring AlwaysOn Availability groups across Windows Server Failover Clustering. Expertise in database encryption, database Back Up, Restore, Recovery, Updating statistics, Rebuilding and Reorganizing indexes, Defrag Tables, and Database Maintenance Plan is essential. The role involves monitoring instances, configuring alerts using tools like Quest Foglight/AppDynamics, query optimization and performance tuning using SQL Profiler, Execution Plan, Performance Monitor, and DBCC Commands. Experience in PowerShell or SSIS for automation and troubleshooting, along with responding to customer-reported database problems, is also required.
Key Responsibilities
- Database Management: Perform RDBMS software installation, database server builds, patch application, upgrades, configuration, and troubleshooting for SQL Server 2008R2/2012/2014/2016.
- Disaster Recovery & High Availability: Design and implement Disaster Recovery plans by configuring and managing AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Clustering, Log-shipping, Mirroring, and Replication (Snapshot and Transactional). Implement High Availability in SQL 2012/2016 by configuring AlwaysOn Availability groups across Windows Server Failover Clustering.
- Security: Possess expertise in database encryption.
- Maintenance & Optimization: Perform regular database Back Up, Restore, Recovery, Updating statistics, Rebuilding and Reorganizing indexes, Defrag Tables, and manage Database Maintenance Plans.
- Monitoring & Alerting: Monitor SQL Server instances, configure and enable alerts using tools like Quest Foglight/AppDynamics or other 3rd party monitoring tools.
- Performance Tuning: Conduct query optimization and performance tuning using tools such as SQL Profiler, Execution Plan, Performance Monitor, and DBCC Commands.
- Automation: Utilize PowerShell or SSIS to automate day-to-day activities and troubleshoot/enhance existing scripts.
- Troubleshooting: Respond to and troubleshoot database-related problems reported by customers, including issues with Log Shipping, DB Replication, and Always On.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Prepare Knowledge Articles and share best practices with the team.

- Experience in Monitoring Instances, Configuring and Enabling alerts using Quest Foglight/AppDynamics or any other 3rd party tool.
- Experience in query optimization and performance tuning.
- Experience in using SQL Profiler, Execution Plan, Performance Monitor and DBCC Commands.
- Experience in PowerShell or SSIS to automate day-to-day activities and troubleshoot/enhance existing scripts.
- Ability to monitor/troubleshoot Log shipping /DB Replication/Always ON.
- Capable of responding to and troubleshooting database-related problems reported by customers.
- Ability to automate routine tasks.
