SQL DBA

Responsibilities:

• Very good practical knowledge and exposure to design, plan, implement, and administer SQL databases.
• Administer SQL Server production databases.
• Extensive experience with different backup/restore and disaster recovery solutions.
• Expert-level experience in administering large databases in mission-critical environments.
• In-depth understanding of Microsoft SQL Server best practices.
• Solid knowledge of SQL Server storage design and its best practices.
• Install and configure database servers.
• Troubleshoot SQL Server production issues.
• Perform capacity planning and monitor database growth.
• Manage Always-On, cluster configuration, mirroring, log shipping, and replication.
• Handle SQL Server security and logins.
• Import and export data using DTS and SSIS packages.
• Design disaster recovery strategies.
• Address performance issues on production servers.
• Move objects from QA to production databases.
• Exhibit good communication skills, strong teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude, problem-solving skills, and self-initiative.
• Added advantage: knowledge of other database technologies like Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
• Knowledge of AWS is a must; Azure is an added advantage.
