Job Description

Position: SQL DBA

Openings: 1

Location: Hyderabad, India

SHIFT DETAILS: 2pm IST 11pm IST OR 5am IST to 2pm IST, OR Weekend 12 hour shifts 40 Hours workweek they are flexible on schedule and will accommodate which what works best for candidate

Pay: 10-15Lakh based on experience

Start: ASAP! Need someone immediate avail (not interested in someone with over 30 day notice period)

Job Description:

Insight Global is seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join one of our logistics clients in India. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing and troubleshooting SQL Server environments, ensuring high availability, and supporting critical business operations. This role requires hands-on expertise in monitoring, replication, and resolving Level 1 and Level 2 (P1/P2) issues promptly. This role is based out of Hyderabad, India.

Must Have:

  • 30 day or less notice period
  • 7+ years in MS SQL Server Administration experience required
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools is mandatory
  • Ability to diagnose problems and triage/resolve issues across various tiers (application, network, database, server or storage tiers)
  • Ability to implement automation to reduce manual administrative tasks through use of jobs.
  • Deep knowledge with SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014, and 2016 databases
  • Experience with backups , restore and recovery models
  • Experience in setting up , tuning and monitoring Mirroring , Replication , Log Shipping and SQL Server Service Broker is necessary
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
  • Knowledge to writing TSQL

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in a startup environment
  • PostgreSQL, GCP or Azure experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the business
  • Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Archive and retention policy.
  • Install & configure new SQL Servers and manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission - critical production systems.
  • Server/Database Security Management
  • Server Monitoring (Disk, CPU and Memory usage) and Resource Management
  • SQL Agent Jobs Monitoring (including maintenance jobs alerts and notifications)
  • SQL Server Error Log monitoring
  • TEMP DB and Transaction log Size maintenance
  • Index Optimization
  • Patching and Upgrading SQL Server
