Job Description

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Design and execute test cases for user stories, exploratory testing, regression, and end-to-end test scenarios.
  • Develop and maintain reusable test suites across releases and projects.
  • Collaborate with product managers and developers to clarify requirements and ensure testability throughout the SDLC.
  • Track and triage defects; perform root cause analysis and ensure timely resolution.
  • Test case development using Gherkin
  • Contribute to identifying automation opportunities and assist in test data preparation, automation maintenance, and test results validation.
  • Maintain QA metrics dashboards to support continuous improvement.

Required Skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS, CIS, IT, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of manual software testing experience in Agile environments.
  • Strong experience with exploratory and structured testing across web-based platforms.
  • 3+ years of writing SQL queries and validating data using MS SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or AWS Pipelines.
  • Experience working with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, GitLab) and issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Strong communication and analytical skills; comfortable collaborating across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in dynamic, ambiguous environments.

Preferred:

  • Experience writing test cases using Gherkin or similar BDD syntax.
  • Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman, ReadyAPI, or REST Assured.
  • Exposure to automated test frameworks, such as Playwright, Selenium/TestNG, or Cypress.
  • Experience supporting automation engineers with test data management or maintenance of automated scripts.
