Job Description:
Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapist:Must be familiar withand practice fromthe Neurodiversity paradigm, OR be ready to learn about the same
Formal and Informal Assessments:Provide assessments, and work with individuals, families, and professionals involved with the client to utilize strategies to aid in maximizing performance and executive functioning
Strength Based Approach:Use strength based approach while focusing on emotional & sensory regulation rather than compliance / sitting tolerance
Co-treatment:Work closely with a Occupational Therapist as a part of the co-treatment plan
Documentation:Document all the details and generate official reports of the client in the format provided to you by Starwalkers
Responsible for non-clinical work including feedback calls
Participate in creating content on social media
Meetings:Participate in Individualized Care Plan meetings, review existing data, and form team meetings
Online Resources & Programs:Be a part of online resource development and webinars conducted by Starwalkers to coach parents about communication area
Please note that at least the first 2-3 weeks will be extensive training with video calls and personal reading of a few hours about Neurodiversity paradigm, Natural Language Acquisition in Gestalt Language Processors and other areas that we would want the clinician to be confident about while working with Autistic children and their families. We want to give you solid learning experience and professional development while working with us.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's / Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Speech Language Pathology
RCI license, or current state / country license
Must have a laptop & stable internet connection
Desired Skills:
Punctual and follow code of ethics
Strong communication skills
Proficiency with computer technology
Ready to learn and motivated to work with kids
