Role Overview
FLX ONE Cargo is seeking a senior hands-on engineer to build and scale the shared platform foundations that power Cargo engineering teams. This role combines software development, platform engineering, architecture contributions, and technical leadership. The ideal candidate will design reusable services, cloud-native solutions, and scalable frameworks while driving engineering best practices across teams. Prior Airline Cargo domain experience is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain shared platform services, libraries, and reusable components.
- Build cloud-native foundations, deployment patterns, observability, and operational tooling.
- Drive technical design discussions and implement architectural standards.
- Own complex technical challenges from design through production support.
- Conduct code reviews, establish engineering best practices, and mentor team members.
- Support CI/CD, infrastructure automation, monitoring, reliability, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and Architecture teams.
Required Experience
- 8–12 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Mandatory Airline Cargo domain experience with a strong understanding of cargo operations, workflows, integrations, and airline systems.
- 6+ years of C++ development experience.
- 4+ years of .NET development experience.
- 2+ years of .NET Core experience.
- 5+ years of AWS or another major cloud platform experience (AWS preferred).
- 8+ years of experience with RDBMS (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.).
- 5+ years of React or modern JavaScript framework experience.
- 1+ year of AIDLC experience (mandatory).
- 1+ year of experience using AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar.
Must-Have Technical Skills
- C++, .NET/.NET Core
- AWS cloud-native development and architecture
- Microservices, REST APIs, distributed and event-driven systems
- Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka
- SQL database design, optimization, and performance tuning
- React or modern JavaScript frameworks
- Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation
- CI/CD, automated testing, and TDD
- Observability, monitoring, and reliability engineering
- Strong system design, problem-solving, and architecture fundamentals
