Job Description

In this critical role, the Enterprise Architect will be responsible for shaping and maintaining the architecture strategy for Workday and Eightfold platforms, ensuring alignment with business objectives and IT systems capabilities. This role involves designing scalable, secure, and resilient systems that support the Human Capital Management (HCM) processes while driving innovation and continuous improvement.

You will collaborate closely with business and technical partners to understand requirements, mitigate architectural risks, and develop solutions that drive business efficiency and growth. The role will also focus on evaluating emerging technologies and incorporating them into the enterprise architecture roadmap for both Workday and Eightfold platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Architectural Strategy & Vision:

  • Develop and maintain an enterprise architecture vision and strategy that aligns with business goals for both Workday and Eightfold platforms.
  • Create and update architectural roadmaps, ensuring that the evolution of IT systems aligns with business needs and performance demands.

2. Standards & Governance:

  • Establish and enforce architectural standards, policies, and governance frameworks to ensure consistency and compliance across IT systems.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential impact, recommending and integrating appropriate technologies into the architecture.

3. Risk Mitigation & System Design:

  • Identify and mitigate architectural risks, ensuring that IT systems are scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned with business requirements.
  • Design systems and infrastructure that can scale to meet growing business needs while adhering to performance, security, and reliability requirements.

4. Documentation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, including principles, standards, and models for both platforms.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the architecture by identifying opportunities for efficiency and innovation in system design and processes.

5. Collaboration & Partner Engagement:

  • Collaborate with business and technical partners to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring solutions meet both business and technical needs.
  • Evaluate and recommend the best technologies and tools to fit the solution requirements for Human Capital Management (HCM) processes, ensuring they integrate seamlessly with Workday and Eightfold.

6. Data Modeling & Metadata Management:

  • Develop and maintain logical, physical, and conceptual data models to support business needs and ensure proper integration across systems.
  • Design and manage metadata structures that enhance information retrieval and usability, ensuring the systems effectiveness and accessibility.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree OR
  • Master's degree and 4 to 6 years of Computer Science, IT, or related field experience OR
  • Bachelor's degree and 6 to 8 years of Computer Science, IT, or related field experience OR
  • Diploma and 10 to 12 years of Computer Science, IT, or related field experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Must-Have Skills:

  • Strong architectural design and modeling skills, including designing scalable and resilient systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies.
  • Proven experience in directing solution design, business process redesign, and aligning business requirements to technical solutions in regulated environments.
  • Solid experience working in agile methodology, collaborating with Product Teams and Product Development models.

Business Architect Skills:

  • Strong ability to align IT capabilities with business strategy and drive business transformation.
  • Experience in business process reengineering and identifying inefficiencies to improve operational workflows.
  • Expertise in non-functional requirements, including performance, scalability, security, and reliability considerations.
  • Proven experience in organizational change management, particularly in transformation-driven initiatives.
  • Ability to effectively engage with business partners at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of API security best practices and standards.

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Strong solution design and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of Workday HCM, Eightfold, and related platforms.
  • Ability to develop differentiated and deliverable solutions based on client requirements.

Professional Certifications (Preferred):

  • Workday HCM, T&A, Recruiting, Integrations (Preferred)

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to tackle complex challenges.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with teams and stakeholders across functions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting while demonstrating leadership in strategic decision-making.
  • Skilled in presentation and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
