About This Opportunity
This Job Role is responsible for Handling SDN Operations and maintaining service availability for SDN nodes with proper work focus for Alarm Monitoring, support Hardware issues, configuration of all Nodes pertaining to SDN IP domains and Outage Support for IP nodes/Products.
What you will do:
- To participate in internal technical discussions in view to improve overall network performance and make recommendations wherever possible.
- Lead and guide the team during emergencies and network outages.
- Will be responsible for revisiting the IP network on periodic basis, carry out random checks on O&M.
- Review dimensioning, planning, trends in traffic and will scan Product updates.
- To play a significant role in building and maintaining the competence of competence domain by giving presentations/trainings and analyzing case studies.
- Will govern impact analysis of new changes in the network.
- Conduct periodic and event based reviews of changes in the network. Share the analysis of the impact these changes will cause.
- Maintain up to date information about product dimensioning though shared info by product management.
- Look at the optimization of the network configuration and product configuration.
- Look at the redundancy aspect across the network which will include disaster management.
- Keep a tap on new corrections going to be available and share the info with Back Office teams.
- Send out periodic journals and event based notifications containing the info about the packages, TRs being delivered and recommendations on settings in the products in the network.
- Do Impact Analysis of the new node integration, prepare MOPs, driving test installations.
- Conduct random audits at specified intervals. These audits to cover product configuration, parameter settings, dimensioning, connectivity, alarms, including O&M activities
- To be involved in critical and complex issues which have been escalated to the level of PLM. To be the interface with the PLM driving the fixes w.r.t. to Back Office.
- Involvement in emergencies and RCA CSRs escalated to PLM.
- Invest considerable time in competence building of complete 2nd LA teams. Conduct planned sessions with case studies. Case studies around new emergencies and non-emergency issues which merit such discussion.
The skill you bring:
- Degree in Telecom/Computer Engineering or MCA with 10+ years relevant experience and managerial exposure.
- Strong IP, SDN and cloud networking expertise; hands-on with Cisco, Nokia and IP fabric; familiarity with 5G packet core.
- Certifications such as CCNP/CCIP and JNCIA; ITIL/Prince2/PMP advantageous.
- Proven leadership, customer service, communication, problem-solving skills and flexibility to work shifts.
- Hands on experience on Cisco, Nokia SDN and IP Fabric.
- Telecommunications knowledge e.g. telephony switching principles, traffic concept, telecommunications networks, signalling and product functional demands.
- Understand the interworking of 5G network suit (Packet Core, SCP, CCPC)
- Team for capacity build up and new features.
- Management certifications like ITIL, Prince2, PMP will be add advantage.
- Willing to work in shifts
