Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Specialist Engineer - Rigid Endoscope, based in Nagercoil with the option of partial remote work. The role involves the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of rigid endoscopes, ensuring optimal functionality and compliance with technical standards. The candidate will be expected to perform troubleshooting, test device performance, and provide technical support to healthcare facilities. Preparing technical reports, maintaining inventory, and collaborating with procurement teams to source spare parts are also key responsibilities.

Job Description:

Technical Repair & Diagnostics

  • Perform detailed inspection of rigid endoscopes (arthroscopes, laparoscopes, cystoscopes, hysteroscopes, etc.).
  • Conduct optical tests: illumination, image clarity, color accuracy, brightness, and field of view.
  • Diagnose issues such as:

-Damaged optical rods/lenses

-Broken light fibers

-Misalignment or bending of the scope

-Fogging, moisture, black dots

-Housing deformation

  • Carry out repairs such as:

-Replacement of lenses, spacers, rod assemblies

-Light post repair / fiber bundle replacement

-Straightening of bent scope tubes

-Tip and distal window repair

-Brazing, soldering, and ultrasonic cleaning

  • Perform leak testing, sterilization compatibility testing, and functional validation.
  • Maintain inventory of optical components, adhesives, lens sets, and cleaning tools.
  • Ensure timely completion of repairs to meet TAT
  • Assist in developing new repair techniques and process improvements..
