Job Title: Special Educator

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience Required: 1–2 Years

Salary: ₹40,000 – ₹45,000 per month

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educator to join our multidisciplinary pediatric therapy team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental needs. The role involves designing individualized educational interventions, implementing evidence-based teaching strategies, and collaborating closely with families and professionals to support each child's development and learning outcomes.

Key ResponsibilitiesIndividualized Education Planning (IEP)
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on assessments and multidisciplinary team recommendations.
  • Regularly update IEP goals to meet the evolving needs of each child.
  • Prepare progress reports and maintain accurate documentation.
Educational Intervention
  • Design and deliver individualized and differentiated educational programs tailored to each child's strengths and needs.
  • Work on fine motor development, pre-academic skills, reading, writing, learning readiness, and functional skill development.
  • Utilize evidence-based teaching approaches and therapeutic strategies to maximize learning outcomes.
Assessment & Progress Monitoring
  • Conduct educational and developmental assessments to identify strengths, challenges, and learning needs.
  • Track and evaluate student progress and modify intervention plans as required.
  • Maintain detailed records of assessments, goals, interventions, and outcomes.
Behavioral & Social Support
  • Implement behavior management strategies that support social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Build strong rapport with children while encouraging engagement and participation.
Parent & Team Collaboration
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress, goals, and home-based strategies.
  • Collaborate with psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other professionals to ensure holistic care.
  • Participate in case discussions and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and developmental disabilities.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based educational and behavioral intervention strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with children and parents.
  • Professional, patient, empathetic, and child-centered approach.
  • Strong documentation and report-writing skills.
Educational Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education / Psychology / Related Field.
  • B.Ed. in Special Education approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) is preferred.
  • Candidates with qualifications such as:
  • B.Ed. (Special Education)
  • B.Sc. Psychology / Clinical Psychology
  • B.A. Psychology / Clinical Psychology
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline
Preferred Candidate Profile
  • 1–2 years of experience in special education or pediatric intervention settings.
  • Ability to independently plan and conduct educational sessions.
  • Strong understanding of child development and learning disabilities.
  • Commitment to ethical, professional, and evidence-based practice.
