As a Capital Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Lead cross functional capital engineering projects that support Growth, Cost Reduction, EHS improvement, and Equipment/Facility Renewal.
Lead diverse teams including electrical, facilities, design, technical experts, and operations to deliver project expectations.
Utilize project engineering fundamentals (scope, budget, schedule, forecasting, communication, financial analysis) to deliver the best outcome for 3M.
Leads engineering projects through multi-disciplinary teams.
Integrates manufacturing and laboratory business issues/needs into project planning.
Manages financial aspects of major project teams, including estimating expenditures, identifying financial alternatives, contributing to the creation of AFEs, purchasing materials and/or services, monitoring and tracking costs, and payments. Proficient in utilizing engineering, sourcing, and financial systems to stay within established budget guidelines.
Controls project costs and schedules, and presents project status and results to business partners, suppliers, team members and appropriate management.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher preferable in Mechanical or Electrical engineering with total experience 20 years with minimum 10 years in large project management.
Long term and short term capital planning Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively present project plans and status to management.
Team player with the ability to positively contribute to a multidisciplinary environment.
Knowledge of Process Safety Management and Mechanical Integrity industry practices.
