Summary The Business Intelligence (BI) Analytical Solution position is a specialized role that focuses on implementing innovative BI technology, platforms, and associated capabilities such as data access through augmented/self serve analytics. The individual will maintain best practices and provide technical guidance for the Business Insights & Analytics (BI&A) organization on UI/UX, process automation, and visualization. The individual will work closely with members of BI&A and IT teams to evaluate new BI tools and identify best use of new features of existing technology stack. This individual will also work to implement and continuously improve self serve BI analytic solution, UI/UX visualization standards based on business needs.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data analysts/engineers and business stakeholders, to understand their needs to gather requirements and develop effective BI solutions
- Implement the best practices to guide the BI&A teams to use right platform and capabilities for their use cases
- Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance the performance and scalability/reliability of our BI platforms, to accelerate user adoption, change management, improve productivity, and deliver organizational efficiency
- Assist in developing and sharing user-friendly UI/UX interfaces for our BI applications, ensuring intuitive navigation, visual appeal, and optimal user experience for difference user groups and stakeholders
- Work with IT and BI&A teams to implement the next generation Business Intelligence & Reporting engines, platforms, and applications by conducting proof of concepts and selection process
- Stay up to date and a pioneer in emerging technologies, tools, and techniques in the field of BI and UI/UX. Passionate in learning new evolving technology and conducting regular assessments and performance evaluations of our BI platforms, identifying areas for improvement and implementing/recommending appropriate solutions
- Act as a subject matter expert on business intelligence, sharing knowledge and best practices with the wider organization and participating in knowledge-sharing sessions.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge and hands -on in programming languages (SQL, Python, or R), cloud-based BI platforms and services, such as AWS Redshift, data modeling, and ETL processes (Alteryx, Tableau Prep, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of cross-functional team to translate complex business requirements into practical BI solutions.
- Strong knowledge of data visualization best practices, principles of effective design and user experience (UX) considerations
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with the biopharma industry, including knowledge of relevant data sources and KPIs
Experience
- We welcome a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in a BI visualization and reporting role, preferably within the biopharma or pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in analyzing wide range of tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Spotfire, SAP Hana or similar platform to provide technical details with 1+ years of hands-on experience in data analysis, visualization, and report development
- Tableau certification preferred
- Alteryx experience
- Experience and working knowledge of Python required
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, SQL, and data manipulation techniques.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
- Familiarity with Generative AI is a plus
