We are seeking a highly qualified SAP Solution Manager Consultant with specialized skills in SAP Solution Manager application areas. This individual will be responsible for building solutions using SAP Solution Manager process design, setup, and deployment methodologies, specifically focusing on Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) functionalities. While supported by a lead consultant, the ideal candidate will be confident working independently, leveraging strong consulting skills to understand complex SAP solution designs.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical:
- Design, implement, and test ALM functionalities of SAP Solution Manager, including Change and Release Management (ChaRM), ITSM, End-to-End (E2E) monitoring, CTS+, and NWDI.
- Be responsible for the successful delivery of SAP Solution Manager landscapes, including understanding of integration to third-party tools such as HP ALM and Java-based application development platforms.
- Review project requirements and identify gaps in the functionality of the Solution Manager application in the project management, testing, and monitoring areas.
- Initiate, coordinate, and deliver system development changes and implementation.
- Work closely with SAP Solution Manager technical developers to ensure accuracy and timely code delivery that matches both designs and requirements.
- Contribute towards developing overall SAP Solution Manager strategy roadmap and implementation timelines.
- Consult on enhancements to SAP platforms with correct use of SAP Solution Manager.
- Understand SLD strategy and documentation.
- Work closely with SAP Security and Release Management teams, help resolve system issues, and answer inquiries from technical and business teams.
- Troubleshoot system-related issues and communicate effectively to technical and business areas.
Required Skills:
SAP BASIS Administration/Consulting:
- Including SAP System Implementation and SAP System installation.
- Experience with full lifecycle Implementation of SAP ECC, CRM, and SAP NetWeaver 7.0-7.3 based components.
- Experience with SAP ECC (FI and HCM), BW, Business Objects, and SolMan.
- Experience in ECC / EHP / SAP NetWeaver Version Upgrade Projects, along with Unicode conversion projects.
- Experience with SAP Support pack/stack on a Solution Manager system.
- Managing changes for printer creation/deletion/changes at SAP as well as OS level.
- Coordinating efforts and consulting with implementers on the installation of new systems and upgrades to existing COTS software packages.
System Administration / Monitoring and Technical Administration:
- Including EWA, Monitoring Customizing capabilities (design and implementation of ICMon, JOBMon, PIMon, and other advanced monitoring), Customization of Metrics, Maintenance Planner, End-to-End Root Cause Analysis (E2E / RCA), and Business Process Monitoring.
ChaRM Configuration:
- Including Change Request Management (ChaRM) and Change Transport System (CTS+).
- Service Desk and Test Suite Management applications in Solution Manager.
- Project management setup using SolMan for Business process documentation.
- Basic SolMan setup and Remote system monitoring setup.
- Ability to do root cause analysis on SolMan issues.
- Able to report both verbally and in writing to executive level.
- Should be open to learning new products and taking additional responsibilities.
Desired Skills:
- SAP Performance Tuning of NetWeaver (all versions) based systems.
- Configuring SAP systems to communicate with other SAP systems (e.g., creating Destinations or JCO Connections for a Java System).
- Working with Project Management, Project Control Office, and Management to update parameters in SAP to improve performance.
- Assisting developers in diagnosing connection issues between SAP systems (i.e., BI to ECC, Portal to BI, and MTO to ECC).
- Performing incident response tasks through Remedy for simple issues.
- Assisting in coordinating efforts with the Security team, external implementation partners, and hosting partners.
- Expertise in implementing applications within Solution Manager.
- Test Suite Configuration, Focussed Insights, and other reporting capabilities.
- Incident Management / Helpdesk.
- Test Management, Testing Tool Integration (HP Load Runner, HP Quality Centre, etc.).
- Solution Documentation, Business Processes Modelling, Business Process Change Analysis.
- Focussed Build.
- Prior experience with BPM and BPA setup.
- Experience with any of the applications ILM or DVM, Hybris, WCMS, Backoffice, Cockpits would be a plus.
