Job Title: Software Tester

Experience Required: 3+ years

Location: Chennai

Job Summary

We are looking for detail-oriented Software Testers to join our offshore Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, a solid understanding of the banking domain, and hands-on experience with both manual and automation testing. Japanese language skills are a plus. Testers will be responsible for executing test cases, closely tracking issues, following up diligently, and supporting management and stakeholder reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Execution
• Execute manual and automated test cases as per test plans and project requirements.
• Identify, document, and track defects using issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
• Ensure test coverage and quality standards are met for all deliverables.
• Domain Understanding
• Apply banking domain knowledge to create effective test cases and scenarios.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and other team members to clarify requirements.
• Issue Tracking & Follow-Up
• Log defects with clear, concise details and steps to reproduce.
• Follow up regularly with development and support teams to ensure timely resolution of defects.
• Communication & Reporting
• Provide timely updates to the Test Lead on test progress, issues, and risks.
• Support the preparation of management and stakeholder reports as needed.
• Team Collaboration
• Work effectively within a team, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
• Participate in team meetings, reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Continuous Improvement
• Suggest improvements to testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and new testing tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in software testing (manual and/or automation).
• Good understanding of the banking and financial services domain (preferred).
• Experience with manual and automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, QTP, JMeter, etc.).
• Familiarity with issue tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under guidance and follow up diligently on assigned tasks.
• Japanese language proficiency is a plus.
