Software Test Engineer (5+ Years Experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Test Engineer with 5+years of experience to drive

end-to-end quality assurance across our product ecosystem. The ideal candidate will possess

strong expertise in Manual Testing, API Testing, Database Validation, and foundational

knowledge of Automation Testing. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional

teams and a proactive approach to ensuring seamless, high-quality releases.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance

• Design, plan, and execute comprehensive manual test cases for web and mobile

applications.

• Perform functional, regression, integration, usability, and exploratory testing.
• Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman or Swagger.
• Execute database testing and backend validation using SQL queries.
• Identify, document, and track defects using industry-standard bug-tracking tools.
• Analyze requirements to ensure clarity and verify test coverage using test management

tools.

• Maintain and enhance existing automation scripts built using Selenium WebDriver + Java /

Playwright + Javascript.

• Run automation test suites and perform root-cause analysis on failures.
• Review, maintain, and contribute to automation and test-related repositories on GitHub.

Product Collaboration

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, and Business stakeholders to understand

requirements and workflows.

• Participate in requirement analysis, grooming sessions, and sprint planning.
• Provide timely feedback on product usability, functionality, and design enhancements.
• Serve as a quality advocate, ensuring alignment between QA and Product teams for timely,

high-quality delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4–6 years of hands-on QA experience in Manual, API, and Database Testing.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, testing methodologies, and QA best practices.
• Proficiency with API testing tools such as Postman or Swagger.
• Strong SQL expertise for database and backend validations.
• Exposure to Automation Testing using Selenium + Java or Playwright + JavaScript.
• Experience working with bug tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, ClickUp, or MantisBT.
• Ability to create detailed test cases, edge scenarios, and test coverage documentation.
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate using GitHub for versioning, reviews, and maintaining test automation

repositories.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
• Exposure to product management workflows.
• Strong sense of ownership and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience in Healthcare, EdTech, or e-Commerce domains—understanding of domain-

specific workflows, regulatory considerations, and product behavior is a strong plus.
