Software Test Engineer

We are looking for a detail-oriented and quality-driven Software Test Engineer to ensure the reliability, functionality, and performance of software applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and executing test strategies, identifying defects, validating product requirements, and working closely with development teams to deliver high-quality software releases.

This role requires strong analytical skills, a passion for quality assurance, and experience in both manual and automated testing methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Execution

• Analyze business and technical requirements to create comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.
• Validate software functionality against defined requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure software releases meet quality and performance standards.

Defect Management

• Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects.
• Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Perform defect verification and retesting after fixes are implemented.
• Maintain detailed test results and defect reports.

Automation Testing

• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts where applicable.
• Enhance test coverage through automation frameworks and tools.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Continuously improve test automation processes and efficiency.

Quality Assurance & Process Improvement

• Participate in requirement reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning sessions.
• Identify potential risks and quality concerns early in the development lifecycle.
• Recommend improvements to testing methodologies and QA processes.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices.

Performance & Compatibility Testing

• Validate application performance, stability, and scalability.
• Conduct browser, device, and platform compatibility testing.
• Support load, stress, and security testing activities when required.
• Monitor application behavior and identify potential quality risks.

Collaboration & Documentation

• Work closely with developers, product managers, business analysts, and project stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain test documentation, test reports, and quality metrics.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and project review meetings.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
• Experience in manual testing and defect management processes.
• Knowledge of test case design techniques and testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum development environments.
